CHRISTMAS WALK 2025

Every year in December, Main Avenue in Ladd turns into the kind of place people actually want to bundle up for. Lights switch on, doors open, and the whole town seems ready for one of our favorite traditions — the Christmas Walk.

This year, it all happens on Saturday, December 13th which is only 3 weeks away.

The afternoon starts early at 12 p.m. with two big favorites:
the Ladd Fire Department Bake Sale and the Vendor & Artisan Show at the Grade School, featuring more than 30 makers, shops, and holiday goodies. It’s the perfect chance to grab gifts, treats, and warm up before the rest of the fun begins.

Then at 2 p.m., Main Avenue officially comes alive.
The Grade School shifts into kid-mode with letters to Santa, cards for the elderly, face painting, and glitter tattoos. Families head to A&B Garage for treats and the giant walk-in snow globe photo op.

From there, the Christmas Walk stretches across town:
Petting Zoo and the Mini Train at War Memorial Park
Horse & Carriage Rides outside North Central Bank
– Balloon twisters at Ladd Sound Productions
– Popcorn, cocoa, and crafts at Dr. Phil’s
– Mini pizzas for purchase at Amore Pizzeria
– Snowman Soup at Rockerbye Boutique
– Cookies, crafts, and music at Rip’s
– Tinsel hair at Special Effects
– A caricature artist at the Ladd Library
– Treat bags at Casey’s
– S’mores outside Players Club
– Santa & Mrs. Claus at American Legion

…and characters roaming all afternoon — Buddy the Elf, Jovie, Mickey & Minnie, Frosty, and Elf on the Shelf.

Throughout the walk, kids take part in the annual Sticker Card Challenge.
There are 18 official sticker stops marked by snowmen. Kids pick up a card at any stop, collect a sticker at all 18 locations, and turn the completed card in at Village Hall by 5 p.m.

Three kids will win a 50-inch TV — simple as that.

While you’re at Village Hall, you’ll also find cookie frosting, Echo Bluff crafts, Jan Martin’s cookie raffle, holiday apparel, 50/50 tickets, and the Hat & Mitten Tree for Project Success.

Meanwhile, Hurst Funeral Home will be running a Food Drive at Ladd Convenience, with a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards. And if you forget your donation at home, the store makes it easy — just buy a can or two on the spot.

At 4 p.m., the Mistletoe Misfits perform on Main Avenue, bringing everyone together before the evening events.

Then at 5 p.m., the Lighted Snowman Parade begins at Digifarms and makes its way down Main Avenue to War Memorial Park — open to anyone who wants to join with a snowman and a string of lights.

Finally, at 5:45 p.m., everyone gathers in War Memorial Park for the Tree Lighting and all the drawings — sticker card TVs, 50/50, and Jan Martin’s cookies.

It’s one of the best days of the year in Ladd — festive, fun, and full of community. No over-the-top fluff, no fancy frills, just a good hometown Christmas celebration done right.
